Helping You Find The Perfect Colors
Choosing the right colors for your home can feel overwhelming. With thousands of paint colors available, where do you even start? At Gordon Painting, we take the guesswork out of color selection. Our experts guide you through the process, considering lighting, architectural features, existing décor, and your personal preferences to ensure a perfect match.
Whether you want a bold refresh or a timeless classic, we help bring your vision to life with precision and expertise. Color has the power to transform a space—it can make rooms feel larger or more intimate, energize or calm, modern or traditional. The right color choice enhances your home's best features and creates the atmosphere you're looking for.
Why Color Consultation Matters
A paint color looks very different on a small chip than it does covering an entire wall. Lighting—both natural and artificial—dramatically affects how colors appear. A color that looks perfect in the store might feel completely wrong in your home. Our consultation process helps you avoid costly mistakes and ensures you love your results.
During your consultation, we'll discuss:
- Your style preferences and inspiration
- How the room will be used and who uses it
- Existing elements you're keeping (flooring, furniture, artwork)
- Natural and artificial lighting in the space
- Color flow between rooms
- Current trends vs. timeless choices
Advanced Visualization Tools
Beyond just selecting the color, our partnerships with Sherwin-Williams, PPG PAINTS™, and Benjamin Moore© give you access to professional color visualizer tools. These digital tools let you see how colors will look in your actual space—or in a similar room—before any paint is applied. Test multiple color combinations, see how they work with your lighting, and make confident decisions.
Our Paint Partners

The Result
Beyond just selecting the color, we ensure a flawless application with professional techniques and high-quality paints. The result? A beautiful, lasting finish that enhances your space and reflects your style. You'll walk into your newly painted room feeling confident that you made the right choice.

Is color consultation included with painting services?
Yes, basic color guidance is included with all our painting projects. We're happy to offer recommendations and help narrow down your choices. For more in-depth consultation involving multiple rooms, whole-home color schemes, or extensive visualization work, additional fees may apply.
How do I know which colors will work in my space?
That's where our expertise helps. We consider your room's lighting (both natural and artificial), existing elements you're keeping, the room's function, and your personal style. We'll recommend colors that work with these factors, and visualization tools let you preview before committing.
Should I choose paint colors before or after choosing furniture?
It depends on your situation. If you have existing furniture, flooring, or artwork you're keeping, we select colors that complement these elements. If you're starting fresh, paint can be selected first as a foundation for future purchases.
How many paint samples should I test?
We recommend narrowing down to 3-4 final contenders and testing large samples (at least 12" x 12") on your walls. Test in multiple spots, including near windows and in the darkest corner of the room. View samples at different times of day as lighting changes.
What's the difference between warm and cool paint colors?
Warm colors have yellow, orange, or red undertones and create cozy, inviting spaces. Cool colors have blue, green, or purple undertones and feel calm and refreshing. Undertones matter—even "white" can be warm (creamy) or cool (crisp). We help you identify undertones and choose accordingly.
